CHILD CARE CENTER AT MENGO HOSPITAL NEARS COMPLETION

Mengo Hospital Partners is delighted to share that the new Child Care Center at Mengo Hospital is nearing completion! Thanks to your generosity, this beautiful, purpose-built facility is now about ninety percent finished, with only interior fittings and furnishings remaining.

We’ve included recent photographs taken by our local project manager, Dr. Nathan Kibwami, so you can see the progress firsthand. We look forward to sharing more photos early next year when the Center opens its doors to staff and children.

This Child Care Center will bring tremendous benefits to the Mengo Hospital community—providing safe, on-campus childcare for new mothers employed at the hospital. We estimate that up to sixty children can be accommodated by the facility. It will allow the staff of Mengo Hospital to continue delivering life-saving care to patients while knowing their own children are nearby and well cared for. In doing so, the Center strengthens staff retention, empowers working mothers, and enhances the hospital’s ability to serve Uganda and the surrounding region with excellence and compassion.

Beyond its practical impact, the Center stands as a symbol of hope and possibility. Your support has made this building—and the brighter future it represents—possible. It is also a powerful proof of concept: if we can build this, we can complete the Pediatric and Outpatient Department Building and realize our shared vision of a Pediatric Center of Excellence at Mengo Hospital.
