ABOUT MHP
Mengo Hospital Partners is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in January 2021 to address the urgent need for sustainable, modern pediatric healthcare facilities at Mengo Hospital in Kampala, Uganda. The organization was established as an independent entity (separate from Christ Church in Alexandria, VA) to elevate & expand decades of mission-driven support for Mengo Hospital & to pursue bold, long-term solutions for pediatric care.
Several founding members of our Board were previously involved with Friends of Mengo USA, a Christ Church–based group that began a mission partnership with Mengo Hospital in the early 1980s. Over 40 years, this partnership, alongside Friends of Mengo organizations in the United Kingdom & Canada, supported the hospital through the delivery of essential medicines & the funding of critical infrastructure projects, including a dental clinic, a maternal HIV/AIDS clinic & expanded medical facilities.

Mengo Hospital Partners was inspired by The Rev. Dr. Mark S. Anschutz, a founding Board member whose leadership helped establish the original mission relationship with Mengo Hospital & inspired generations to engage in global service. His legacy of caring for “the least of these,” & his call to think boldly & ambitiously about what is possible, continues to guide our work.
